About me

I'm an experienced journalist, critic, consultant and author who has been seen (or heard) on places like Kotaku, The Guardian, New York Times, BBC, NPR, Defector and Three Moves Ahead.

In July 2023 I left Kotaku after 17 years to help launch Aftermath, an independent, worker-owned website about video games and the culture surrounding them.

I've also written a book about cosplay and designed a game about airplanes.
